The install will perform a fresh install of Senso with exception of the device certificate (to avoid duplicates in the console).
The install will skip over the entire command if it has already been installed.
The install will allow the client to update via Senso's online updater.
There have been a number of changes that Google and Microsoft have made that impacted the service.
Microsoft have deprecated one of their technologies forcing Senso to change portals to improve the service. Please be aware that we will be migrating portals this weekend. The only clients that will be negatively affected are ones not showing as green (updated) - these will need to be reinstalled with the latest Senso 2019.7.14.0 while you are on-site.
In regards to clients appearing offline, this is a Microsoft bug from 2017. The Senso devs have been working hard to created a fix, which shall be released in the new client within the next week.
Google have updated Chrome in the summer with a feature called Anonymize local IPs exposed by WebRTC. As WebRTC is the main method for Senso clients to operate efficiently, browsers have been falling back to Senso's fallback TURN service meaning all traffic has to be routed out of the school and back in, putting a massive strain on their servers.
Action to take for Senso:
In your Chrome Omnibar type chrome://flags > seach for mdns > disable Anonymize local IPs exposed by WebRTC - this will massively improve performance!
Apply the above to any computers where staff remote control computers (i.e. ICT Suite teacher machines).
During your upcoming visits, please check that Senso clients are up-to-date - primarily on core devices such as servers, admin computers, head's computers, and teacher workstations.
Please follow the instructions here to apply viewing permission on request.
